Guinea pigs are often overlooked for adoption

Guinea Pig enjoyed a nutritious meal of hay, carrots and other greens. It shared its meal with its fellow guinea pigs, scurrying from eating food to hiding in its shelter. “It’s been tough for these little guys, but they are showing strength,” a Petco employee said. Not a lot of people’s first choice is a guinea pig; people usually opt for a dog, cat, or even a fish. Guinea pigs have been getting the short end of the stick, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. Some families don’t have the resources to add an additional member to their family, so Petco is where they sit, waiting for a new home.
