Boys soccer moves forward from loss against Costa as they prepare to play Leuzinger

Boys soccer beat Peninsula last friday 2-1, improving their overall record to 12-5-1. Peninsula lead 1-0 until the second half when senior Noah Ristovski and junior Eli Ristovski scored leading them to a victory.

“I’d say the first half was all Penn. They dominated us on every part of the field and shut us down. Their goal late in the half gave them some confidence to keep moving forward. Second half, we fought back and that’s when it became very tight. Fortunately we scored twice to take the lead and then eventually go on to win,” junior Dylan O’neill said.

The boys played a more defensive game during the first half but once they got their rhythm and started moving the ball, they were able to play a more offensive game which led to their two goals.

“Our strengths would be our desire to fight back and win and also our attack. We slowly created more and more chances which then led to our goals. I’d say our weakness would be our ball movement in the first half. We struggled to connect passes and get behind their defense but that all changed during the second half where we were able to completely out play them,” O’neill said.
