Girls’ varsity tennis defeats Culver City 12-6
Thursday afternoon, as the sun beat down on the RUHS tennis courts, girls’ varsity tennis was able to pull through for the win, beating Culver City 12-6. According to Nicole Sasaki, doubles player, the team is working hard and improving each week.
“We’re growing as a team, having fun on the court, and gearing up for the next couple matches,” Sasaki said.
As the season moves forward, their main goal is to “keep shots in, stay consistent, and be aggressive when needed.”
The team not only improved in skill, but in spirit as well, having built their team spirit and morale back up after COVID.“COVID was a really big setback for our team last season, as we weren’t able to bond as much with the social distance requirements,” Sasaki said. “This season we’re still being precautious, but we’re definitely making bonds and connections with each other on and off the court.”
